The Beginning: Why I got started

A while back, I use to make trips to various parts of the world, to communities that were struggling.  They were tribes, families and individuals who struggled daily to meet basic needs.  The teams and organizations I partnered with did what we could but our efforts seemed insufficient.  I thought we could do better.  As we worked on educating children in these communities, I also wondered how we might provide helps for head of households by providing more helps for industry.  A single mother may be helped with micro-loans and business tips to get ahead a bit more efficiently.  But I was no entrepreneur.  I needed to understand how to start and maintain a sustainable business myself before I can provide actual consultation (though minor).

This left me with the conundrum of determining what to sell.  One sure thing I wanted to do was to help people, who were like me: weird, out of place,  awkward, and felt "less than".  I wanted to help us improve from where we are to where we wanted to be.   For my own growth, I realized that I needed to:

  • recognize who and where I was in the heart (character and values), mind (knowledge and skills, and body (activity and inactivity) with a healthy acceptance
  • then take ownership of what is my responsibility to change and transform to what and where I wanted to be.

But I needed help.  Recognizing my condition and wanting to change wasn’t enough to actually bring forth change, and so I did research like so many others.  With research in hand, I planned to also create goods to supplement and aid this venture for growth and improvement.

I love to see people thrive and live out their best selves, so I hope to be a part of their journey, and if not, to hear about their journey as I too am constantly taking steps towards greater heights.

Thank you for taking the time to read my startup story.
